NAU! Lenses for myopia correction tend to be thicker on the edges than on the central part.
The higher myopia is, the higher is the thickness on the edge, causing the annoying concentric-circles effect around the eye.
Moreover, the higher myopia is, the heavier the lens is and, consequently, the comfort and the aesthetics of the glasses completed are reduced.

For correcting myopia, we suggest you a wide selection of lenses capable of ensuring a good aesthetic and functional result: reduction of the lens thickness, weight and circle effect around the eye.

Lenses for astigmatism correction are the same used for correcting myopia or hypermetropia but they have a second correction parameter, called cylinder.

WHICH LENSES ARE USED?

Presbyopia can be corrected using NAU! progressive lenses that is to say, lenses enabling to see well from any distance with a single pair of glasses. Progressive lenses, in fact, cover three vision areas: near, intermediate and far. The use of progressive lenses requires a short adjustment period at the end of which a vision capacity very similar to the natural one is reacquired.

For correcting presbyopia, we suggest you using glasses with progressive lenses because they guarantee great advantges: clear vision from any distance, from close objects to ones really far way with a single pair of glasses; moreover, the lens has not got any separation line thus reminding of a normal corrective lens and ensures a dynamic vision, very similar to the natural one.

ANTI-REFLECTIVE COATING

Anti-reflective coating consists in covering the lens with some metallic substances invisible to the naked eye, capable of eliminating glare and the images originating on the surface of the lens.
Lenses treated with anti-reflective coating are processed with hardening, water-repellent and antistatic substances.

TINTING

The lens is coloured through the immersion in particular substances containing coloured pigments.

UV TREATMENT

UV treatment consists in coating the lens with a special transparent varnish capable of blocking the passage of UV rays between the lens and the eye. UV treatment is highly advised for eye-sunglasses.

Total eye protection against UV rays, being particularly harmful for our eye health.
PHOTOCHROMIC LENSES

These lenses darken when exposed to UV rays. They immediately return to a clear state in environments or locations with a minor presence of UV light.

This process occurs because the external surface of the lens is treated with a particular transparent varnish that contains UV light-sensitive micro particles. When these particles are penetrated by UV rays, they are activated and the lens is darkened.

When the UV rays tend to decrease, the lens gradually reacquires its original transparency.

Photochromic lenses protect against UV radiation.

We remind you that photocromic lenses do not replace sunglass lenses.

POLARISED LENSES

All reflective surfaces (snow, water, paved roads) reflect sunbeams as if they were mirrors, thus amplifying their intensity.
To sort out this problem, polarised lenses are used. The latter have a selective action on sunbeams. In this way, rays reach our eyes with a lower energy and the images are perceived with a greater clarity.

HARDENING

The hardening treatment consists in covering the external surface of the lens with a particular transparent varnish that, drying up, increases the scratch resistance of the lenses.
